This week, Y5 began their training in Structured Lunch Time Play (SLTP).

On Wednesday, Mrs McHenry (an advisory teacher from Sefton) came in to carry out the first session with the boys and girls. They were taught how to carry out  a warm up, teach a skill and a game before finishing off with a cool down. In training they were just teaching each other but this afternoon, they had a go at delivering  a session to a group of Reception and Year 1 children. It was lovely to see the children of different ages interacting and the little ones responding so well to the older ones.

I look forward to the second training session next week, following which, Y5 will have to carry out a practial assessment to determine whether they can become Young Leaders.

Well done boys and girls – keep up the good work.

Photos to follow!
