So long, farewell, auf wiedersehn Y5…

Posted in Uncategorized on July 21, 2008 by year5

So, another year over - this one has certainly flown!

I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to each and everyone of you for a wonderful year. I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching such a fantastic class and have many memories to treasure from my last year as Miss Blackham!

Mrs Dickson, Mrs Hall and I would also like to thank you all (and especially your mums and dads!) for the wonderful gifts and thoughtful cards we received at the end of term. We were all completely overwhelmed  by your generosity. Like I said before, it really has been a pleasure teaching you all so thank you once again.

Have a fantastic summer break and make sure you all come back safe and sound in September, ready to face the new and exciting challenges of Y6. I look forward to seeing you then.

Love and Best Wishes,

Mrs Burns to be!

Structured Lunch Time Play (SLTP)

Posted in Uncategorized on July 10, 2008 by year5

Last week, Year 5 completed their three week training course in SLTP. This involved being trained up by an Advisory Teacher from Sefton in developing PE skills with Reception and Year 1 children through playtime games. Last Thursday, they were assessed and I am delighted to announce that all of the children who completed each session of the training programme passed and were awarded a certificate to show that they are now Young Leaders. From September, when they go into Y6, they will be setting up a programme to work with the younger children during lunch times to keep them physically active.

Well done Year 5!
