This week’s hero in Y5 is…

CONGRATULATIONS.

We have had lots of fun this week in Y5.

We have had the new laptops out in class to word process our poems.

Yesterday, we had our first attempt at ‘BIG WRITING’.

We had a really nice atmosphere in class with candles burning, music playing and snacks to eat while we worked! WOW!

Today we are going to experiment with desiging a park, using the ICT package on the website below.

Click on the website below and with your partner you can design your own park!

Answer the question, work through the quick practice and then click on

•·      d) empty park.

Click on each item you want and drag it carefully into the park. Think carefully about where you want to position each item. You can rotate them by left -clicking in the middle of the item.

Rachel sent a comment to Y5’s blog saying how much she likes mind maps. Well you can do mind maps on your computer and they are really easy and (and this is the best bit) you can share them with your friends. Look at the link section on the blog for bubble.us and before you know it you will be doing online mind mapping.

Hi Year 4, oops, I mean Y5! It’s Miss Rice here - don’t tell Miss Blackham!! I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the drawings, cards and gifts that you gave me at the end of last year - they were absolutely lovely and it was very kind of you. I can already see that you have settled well into Y5 and I wish you all a very happy and successful year. You are a great class and I enjoyed teaching you.  Love, Miss Rice x
