This week’s very worthy winner was Brooke Whittle for being part of the winning Girls’ Football Team.

Brooke was the lucky name pulled out but I don’t think she’ll mind sharing it with all of the team this week!

Well done Brooke!

Year 5 Girls Rock!

Posted in Uncategorized on May 10, 2007 by year5

Congratulations to the Year 5 Girls’ Football Team who have just been crowned CHAMPIONS of the Maghull and District Y5 Cup.

It was a nail-biting game, but the girls put on a tremendous display of skill and courage to fight back from a goal down to draw level in the second half. After full time the score was still 1-1 so extra time was played. The game had to be decided by penalties in the end and I’m proud to say that Green Park ended up as winners after a cracking display by our goalkeeper Penny Anastasiou.

The whole team, led by Captain Marvel (Megan Calleja), battled hard throughout (against a very good side!) and were deserved winners.

Well done to all of the girls…

Megan Calleja, Penny Anastasiou, Anneli Reed, Brooke Whittle, Melissa Perrin, Beth Ryan, Sian Williams and Chloe Coughlin.

Well done girls - I’m very proud of all of you.

Thanks very much to all of our supporters and a special thanks to Mr Hewer for refereeing the game.
