Just to let all you red and blue fans know that if our recent run of good form continues you could be hosting the Old Gold and Black of Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield or Goodison (or the Emirates Stadium Michael!, next season.)

We’re currently eighth in the Championship Table but 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th are all tied on 59 points so it’s very close as we battle it out for the play-off places!

Come on the Wolves!!!!

Well done to…

Emily Bateman!

(another previous winner of the award!)

As we didn’t have a trophy to give out today (ahem!), Emily got to take home Y5’s pet dog, whom she is going to name for us as she is the first recipient of this special addition to the Hero of the Week Goodies.

Let us know what you call him Emily and look after him!

Hi boys and girls,

For those of you who are regular bloggers, you will have noticed that over the half term holiday that we had some messages posted on our blog from pupils (and the teacher) of a Y5 class in Leeds. They have been finding out about what we get up to in our class, so it would be nice for you to check out their blog and see what fun they have!

The school is Kippax County Primary School in Leeds and the teacher is Mr Perry.

If you click on the link below, it should take you straight to their site.

Have fun and leave some nice comments.

PS Their teacher, Mr Perry, used to live in Maghull (many moons ago!) and used to go to St. John Bosco School! Mad, eh!

UPDATE

We have been contacted by Miss Hampson, the teacher of another Year 4/5 class from a school in Staffordshire. Check out their blog too on the link below:

Let me know if you see any great ideas that you would like us to copy…I am sure the teachers won’t mind!

Last week, Y5 worked in pairs to teach and learn a new skill.

All of the children did really well and found out how things they could do to make it easier to teach (and learn) new things!

We had some fun at the same time!

Some of the new skills were:

  • counting to ten in French, Maltese, Italian or Greek!
  • learning a musical instrument (piano, flute or violin)
  • learning a football trick
  • learning a dance
  • learning origami
  • learning card/magic tricks
  • learning how to draw specific things
  • learning facts about things (cars/dinosaurs etc)
  • how to break fall in jujitsu
  • how to get into awkward positions!
