Y5 are going multi-lingual!
Posted in Uncategorized on January 28, 2007 by year5Last week, in our SEAL lesson, on the theme of ‘Going for Goals,’ we decided to learn another language, for a bit of fun!
We learnt how to count to ten in Japanese, in about five minutes!
We used actions to help us remember them, because we believe that we learn best when see, say and do at the same time!
Who can remember it?
1 = ichi (itchy - scratch)
2 = ni (knee - scratch your knee)
3 = san (sun - point to the sky)
4 = shi (she - point to a girl)
5 = go (go - walk)
6 = roku (rock - rock the baby)
7 = shichi (chichi - sneeze twice)
8 = hachi (hatchi - put on hat)
9 = kyu (coo - like a dove)
10 = ju (chew - chew gum)
We all have individual skills and talents so next week, I’m looking forward to seeing which new skills you can teach each other in our SEAL session!
